Last weekend, AC Milan named a full-strength team against Sassuolo and they will do so again against Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana.
There were a few questions asked when Massimiliano Allegri opted to stick with the starters for the game against the Neroverdi. However, it may have been a test of their character to play two important games in a few days.
Now, Milan will name a pretty similar team against Napoli on Thursday night.
Milan’s predicted XI for Napoli
Mike Maignan remains in the net, whilst Strahinja Pavlovic and Fikayo Tomori keep their places in the backline. Due to Matteo Gabbia’s injury, though, the Italian has not travelled and he will be replaced by Koni De Winter, as MilanNews reports.
The midfield will remain unchanged, so Alexis Saelemaekers and Davide Bartesaghi will flank the trio of Adrien Rabiot, Luka Modric and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. It is worth noting that Youssouf Fofana has recovered now, too, so he could feature.
Finally, with Rafael Leao set to miss the game, Christopher Nkunku will lead the line alongside Christian Pulisic. There will be no rushing for Leao, so Nkunku has a chance to impress.
Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, De Winter, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Loftus-Cheek, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Nkunku, Pulisic.
