The AC Milan squad were back at Milanello on Monday as they continued preparations for the rematch against Lazio on Thursday.
As MilanNews report, the team again mostly performed recovery work following Saturday night’s Serie A match against Lazio. Preparations will begin to dial up in the next couple of days for the Coppa Italia game at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night against the same opponent.
Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez continued their individual training programs. Barring any setbacks, the American is expected to return to the squad either tomorrow or the day after. So, there is hope he can play a part in the capital.
Longer to wait
Gimenez is expected to return to training on the field – but working individually, and not in full training – to improve his condition after the month-long layoff due to an ankle problem.
As a reminder, the Mexican striker posted on his Instagram profile back on November 5, revealing that he had been playing in discomfort for some time.
“For several months I’ve been playing with an ankle injury that hasn’t allowed me to be 100% fit or comfortable on the pitch,” he said.
“With determination, I continued to help the team and I continued to play, but the pain increased: the time has come to stop. Now I must focus on recovery and prepare to be back with you as soon as possible. God is in control. Thank you for your support, see you soon!”
