Christian Pulisic has become the leading man for AC Milan, and it is a different side under Massimiliano Allegri.
As MilanNews report, Milan look like a transformed side. They are compact, attentive at the back and with a big heart – characteristics that weren’t even visible last season. The fact that Milan haven’t conceded a goal from open play (for the fourth game in a row) shows the changes.
Defending well has always been Allegri’s mantra. First, they think about not conceding, then they think about scoring. All good, but what about attack? This Milan seems a bit off when it comes to goals, and their forwards.
Pulisic stands alone
Aside from the disallowed goals against Lecce and Cremonese, Santiago Gimenez is struggling to finish and convert goals. He’s only had one goal this season, in the Coppa Italia against Lecce at San Siro.

Rafa Leao, recently returned from a troubling calf injury, also doesn’t seem to be at his best. The missed chances against Juventus highlight a significant flaw in the Portuguese and the entire team: they lack a striker. A player like Olivier Giroud, someone clinical inside the box.
Despite his missed penalty against Juventus, Pulisic has established himself as Milan’s true and perhaps only attacking threat up front. He’s already scored six goals this season (two in the Coppa Italia) and has a skill that the other attackers seem to lack: killer instinct in front of goal.
A poorly taken penalty won’t be enough to judge the American’s great start to the season. Milan’s top scorer this season is currently the sole beacon of the Rossoneri attack, which Allegri must work on.
