MN: The signs that show Allegri is the one really in command of Milan’s summer window

While Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani carry out various negotiations, it is in fact Massimiliano Allegri that is having the decisive say.

MilanNews report that Allegri represents the key to any deal. Unlike recent years, especially with Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceiçao, Milan have returned to having a coach who has a significant say in the selection of players for the squad he will then coach.

Allegri may be labeled a ‘corporate coach’, one of those who doesn’t go to press conferences and shout to the world that certain things aren’t right for him, but his mild-mannered persona shouldn’t be mistaken for passive acceptance of others’ decisions.

Max returned to the Rossoneri knowing he has a powerful voice, which puts him in a position to make his decisions count. The bond with Tare is already strong and is growing stronger every day, and the leadership are trying to accommodate his demands.

Yes to one, no to the other

While the deal for Samuele Ricci had already been set up in January and could no longer be cancelled, Max has had a hand in the other deals initiated in recent weeks. Marc Pubill, for example, did not convince him even before the test on his knee last Friday.

The Spanish full-back’s profile didn’t meet with Allegri’s overall approval, who instead is more focused on players like Guela Doué and Wilfred Singo, who remain on the shortlist for the right flank. On the other hand, he quickly approved of Ardon Jashari (negotiations ongoing) and Pervis Estupinan.

Allegri has no intention of working with an oversized squad. He made this clear on the day of his presentation, and the concept hasn’t changed. He wants to have only players who fit into the new system, and for this reason the club will have to accelerate the transfer process.

Tommaso Pobega was sold to Bologna on loan with an obligation to buy for €8m, Emerson Royal has opened the door to Besiktas, while Ismael Benancer, Yacine Adli, Noah Okafor, Yunus Musah and Samuel Chukwueze have their bags packed.
