MN: Tomori’s renewal now ‘one step away’ – the details including salary and duration

AC Milan are close to following up Mike Maignan’s renewal with that of Fikayo Tomori, according to a report.

The big news of the January window was not a new signing but rather a contract extension, as Maignan put pen to paper on a deal until 2031. Now, as MilanNews report, an agreement with Tomori is close to being finalised too.

The English defender arrived at Milan in January 2020 on loan with an option to buy from Chelsea, which was then exercised in the summer of the same year for a permanent €29m deal. Now, the Englishman has essentially stamped the details of his new contract with the club.

Tomori to extend

After the report from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggested that Tomori is close to extending, MilanNews also received further confirmation that the agreement is practically done. The centre-back will soon be summoned to the fourth floor of Casa Milan for the signing to take place.

Tomori’s new contract with the Rossoneri expires in June 2030, so it’s expected to be a four-year deal with a salary that – including fixed salary and bonuses – is expected to be around €4m net per season.

The former Chelsea man has made 201 official appearances for Milan, scoring seven goals and being a key pillar of the side that won the 2021-22 Scudetto. Tonight will be appearance number 202, and he hopes to celebrate with another league title in May.
