Fikayo Tomori was forced off during AC Milan’s win over Napoli with an adductor problem, it has emerged.
It was in the 80th minute of the game that Tomori made way for his compatriot Ruben Loftus-Cheek and he looked to be in a little bit of pain as he came off. Instantly, there were worries about a muscle issue, and now MilanNews have provided an update.
According to their report, Tomori has suffered an adductor strain. The evolution of the injury will be assessed day by day ahead of the trip to face Juventus, with the game at the Allianz Stadium scheduled for Sunday night.
It would certainly be a big blow for Milan to be without the Englishman, given that he has been back to his near-best form playing on the right side of a three-man defence, with Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic the other centre-backs.
However, there is also someone ready to step straight into his shoes. Koni De Winter arrived in the summer window from Genoa and has found minutes hard to come by so far, though he did come on for the final 10 minutes of last night’s game to help see out the victory at home.
