MN: ‘Where are you?’ – Leao left shining alone as Gimenez continues to struggle

1 week ago 43

Santiago Gimenez has struggled since moving to AC Milan; this much cannot be denied, unfortunately. However, he still has a bit of time.

When Gimenez arrived in January, there was hope that the Mexican would hit the ground running and save the season. Instead, he struggled to bed in, and in fairness, the Milan environment was a tough one to settle into, given the issues.

This summer, the focus was on his exit, rather than the chances of him improving. Now, there are probably some who wish that he had left. It is an unfortunate part of playing in such a decisive position, where the factors are so clear to many.

Time ticking…

MilanNews, today, writes that it is not a time for blame, though. Whilst the defence shines, the attack lags, and Gimenez is the obvious target, if you will.

They question ‘where are you’ to the Mexican, especially with Massimiliano Allegri asking for more from the Mexican. Whilst he is still proving to be valuable, he needs to start finishing chances. On Friday, the coach screamed, ‘Santiii, wake up… are you sleeping?’, leading some to question whether the situation can be fixed.

With the setup, there can be no denying that he is struggling to get the ball in the box. Even then, though, his attempts have been lacklustre, as proved by him being the most wasteful striker at one point.

The report finishes by stating that time is running out for the first goal, especially with Rafael Leao starting to shine bright again, with others set to return soon.
