Modric ‘really grateful’ for Milan efforts after birthday message compilation: “Thank you”

AC Milan signed Luka Modric this summer, and as much as he is a fantastic footballer, he is also a brilliant character and man. 

Having a player like Modric around Milanello is brilliant on several levels. On the most primary one, the Rossoneri have a Ballon d’Or winner in the team. However, they also have a leader, a motivator and an inspiration for everyone in the team.

Players like the Croatian come around rarely in football generally, let alone on a club level, let alone as fans of the club. Modric ticks each of those boxes, and every day seems to be a reminder of his qualities on and off the pitch.

Messages for Modric

Milan posted a video on their Instagram with messages from Carlo Ancelotti, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Kaka, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Sainz and then his family at the end, as MilanPress relays and can be seen below.

Modric responded to the compilation, stating that he did not expect the message.

“Thank you for the beautiful surprise, all legends of the game. Some of them I have played with, some are friends, and I’ve shared good moments with them. At the end, the most important thing is family. I am grateful for everything you are doing since I joined; it means a lot. I am really happy, thank you very much.
