Mohamed Salah has hinted he could move into coaching when he hangs up his boots. The Liverpool striker has confirmed he will leave Anfield at the end of the current season.

Salah began his professional career with Arab Contractors in Egypt before moving to Europe with FC Basel in 2012. His first stint in England arrived with Chelsea two years later, although he was sent on loan to Italy after a challenging spell.

The Egyptian showcased his ability with both Fiorentina and later Roma before returning to the Premier League with the Reds. The rest is history: Salah has scored more than 250 goals for the club and been instrumental in two league title triumphs and a Champions League victory.

He will now depart Anfield after nine trophy-filled years, though it was during his time at Roma that Salah suggested his career might ultimately take a different path.

In 2016, after Salah's transfer to the Italian side on an initial loan deal that included a permanent option, he took part in a Q&A on social media.

One fan asked whether the Egyptian would ever consider becoming a coach once his playing career ends. He responded: "You never know what can happen tomorrow but it is a possibility."

Salah hasn't ruled out the prospect and hinted he could transition into management upon hanging up his boots. However, it seems at least for now, he will conclude his playing days at a different club following his Anfield departure.

During the same Q&A session, Salah kept open the option of returning to the Egyptian league, although current speculation suggests the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer as probable next destinations.

Salah stated in his farewell video, "Hello everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell: I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

"I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people, would become part of my life. Liverpool, it's not just a football club. It's a passion. It's a history. It's a spirit.

"I can't explain in words to anyone not part of this club. We celebrated victory. We won the most important trophies. And we fought together through the hardest time in our life.

"I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the teammates, past and present. And to the fans: I don't have enough words.

"The support you showed me through the best time of my career and you stood by me in the toughest times. It's something I will never forget, and something I will take with me always.

"Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will always be one of you. This club will always be my home, to me and to my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone."
