Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has won the PFA Player of the Year award after a season that saw him score 34 goals and lay on another 23 strikes for his teammates.
Salah was a key man for Liverpool during its Premier League title victory under Arne Slot. The Egyptian netted 29 times in the Premier League (and provided another 18 assists), beating the likes of Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak to the Golden Boot.
Also on the shortlist were Isak (Newcastle United), Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Cole Palmer (Chelsea) and Declan Rice (Arsenal). Those players were nominated by their Premier League counterparts.
This is the third time that Salah has won the PFA Player of the Year award. Last season, Liverpool didn't have any players on the final six shortlist, but this time had two with Salah joined by Mac Allister.
Former Liverpool Women star Olivia Smith won the Women's Young Player of the Year award. She joined Arsenal in a record transfer deal this summer.
Aston Villa attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers was the Men's Young Player of the Year. Among the players that he beat to that honor is now-Liverpool left-back Milos Kerkez, in addition to Dean Huijsen, Ethan Nwaneri, Liam Delap and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Michael Cheek of Bromley was named the League Two Player of the Year. Wycombe Wanderers' Richard Kone, who has now joined QPR, picked up the prize for League One.
In the Championship, James Trafford, who moved to Manchester City from Burnley this summer, was the Player of the Year. Salah, of course, picked up the main prize.
In addition to picking up the main prize, Salah was also named in the Premier League Team of the Year. He was in there alongside Liverpool teammates Kerkez, Van Dijk, Mac Allister and and Ryan Gravenberch.
Premier League Team of the Season: Matz Sels; Gabriel, William Saliba, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez; Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Declan Rice; Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, Chris Wood.
