Mohamed Salah’s sister, Rabab, has confirmed the sad passing of their grandfather.
Reports emerged from Egypt on Monday claiming, Ahmed Abdel Aziz Al Bambi, Salah’s grandfather, had passed away, with arrangements for funeral underway. That is to be held in Nagrig, Salah’s hometown.
In a post on social media, Rebab Salah confirmed the news: “We belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return,” she wrote on Facebook. “My dear and affectionate grandfather passed away. May Allah have mercy on him, forgive him, and make him dwell in heaven.”

The winger played in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
The Reds are also in action on Wednesday and Saturday this week, against Sunderland and Brighton & Hove Albion, respectively.
Salah has a close bond with his family and regularly shares photos of his relatives on social media. He has not been active on any online platforms since the City defeat.
