Mohamed Salah shone for Roma during a two-year spell there between 2015 and 2017, and the Serie A club is reportedly looking into re-signing Liverpool's star forward

Mohamed Salah has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for former club Roma.
The Egyptian superstar joined Liverpool from the Serie A side in 2017, and in the years since he has established himself as one of the Reds' all-time great players.
It was Salah's form for Roma between 2015 and 2017 – when he registered 34 goals and 21 assists across 83 appearances – which convinced Liverpool to sign the former Chelsea youngster. And now it is being reported that the Giallorossi is interested in re-signing Salah on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Despite it appearing as though Salah had patched things up with Arne Slot prior to his departure for the Africa Cup of Nations, it remains unclear what will happen when he returns to Anfield later this month.

Tutto Mercato, however, says that Salah's wages could be a sticking point — Salah earns more than half a million dollars per week at Liverpool, and even if he were to accept a 50 percent salary reduction, that might still put him out of reach for Roma.
Salah hit the headlines earlier this month when he spoke in the Elland Road mixed zone about how he no longer had a relationship with Slot, while also claiming that Liverpool had thrown him under the bus.
The forward was responding to being dropped from a Premier League starting line-up for a third successive game, having previously started every top-flight game since Slot's arrival.

Slot responded by dropping Salah from the squad altogether for the Champions League trip to Inter Milan, but Salah was restored to the squad for the game against Brighton a few days later.
An injury to Joe Gomez saw Salah enter the fray in the first half, and he delivered one of his brightest performances of the season before turning his attention to Afcon with Egypt.
Slot's decision to recall Salah suggested that any issue between the pair had been resolved – temporarily, at least – but the outlook will become much clearer when the player returns to England.
