Russell Martin expects more Rangers signings and departures from Ibrox in the final 10 days of the transfer window.

"There'll be more players come in," said Martin. "There'll be some players leave as well.

"There's too many people here that are uncertain about their futures at the moment. It's really difficult to be all in all the time when you have half an eye on what's happening outside and it's no fault of their own.

"There's guys that have been really clear that their future's not here are they're slowly being resolved and they're moving on and happy with what they're going to do next and there are some guys who are sort of a bit in and a bit out, depending on what their agent tells them."

Martin has already recruited 10 new players since taking over in June, including loan deals for Premier League teenagers Jayden Meghoma and Mikey Moore.

"The team would benefit from having some experienced players on the pitch that are used to the big occasion, that would be there to help their team-mates for sure," Martin said.

"It's something that we've been aware of since the start of the window. There was a guy were interested in really early on who would've bought fantastic leadership, who didn't come here in the end so I think we've been looking for that type since then and now we have to find the right ones to add to the mix and help out the guys."

Ecuador midfielder Jose Cifuentes, 26 has joined Toronto on loan while other players seemingly moving on are Turkey left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, 27 and English centre-back Ben Davies, 30. Yilmaz has been linked with Besiktas and Davies with Oxford United.

"Three good guys that needed to play football elsewhere and they've got moves they're happy with and we're happy with," said Martin.

"Ridvan came in to say goodbye today and all being well, he will go back there to Turkey.

"Ben's having his medical so fingers crossed that goes well for him."

Meanwhile, the head coach revealed Cyriel Dessers is unlikely to be fit in time for Sunday's Scottish Premiership trip to face St Mirren but feels Wednesday's Champions League play-off decider away to Club Brugge "is probably more achievable" for the striker.

Rangers trail 3-1 following Tuesday's first leg loss at Ibrox, with Martin saying his side had "paid the price" for their opening 20-minute spell during which they lost the three goals.

Hamza Igamane has made a tentative return to action as a substitute following an early season injury and Martin says the Moroccan forward is not yet ready to start.

On St Mirren, Martin, who is yet to win a Premiership fixture as Rangers boss, commented: "It's an exciting game for us because I think we have to go there ready to show how much we can compete, how much we can fight as a team.

"We have to turn the game into one that we want but to do that you have to really fight for it and really earn it against St Mirren because they're really well organised, really well coached, really aggressive."
