Mario Gila’s name has circulated around the AC Milan sphere for a little while now, but it seems they will have to keep waiting for him.
Adding another defender is key for Milan, but it seems that, like with the striker position, they will have to wait until the summer to find a permanent solution. A few names have appeared, but each has been met with difficulty.
Radu Dragusin is the most recent, but there are issues with the formula used in the deal. At present, the Rossoneri want a buy option in the loan deal. However, Spurs are holding out for an obligation.
Moretto on Mario Gila
Gila, then, is the name that has been most desired, and Igli Tare hopes to reunite with the Spaniard at some point. It seems unlikely that it will occur this month, though, and Matteo Moretto has provided an update (via MilanNews) on the pursuit of the Lazio defender.
“As far as I know, there’s no contact at Milan for Gila at the moment. Absolutely not for January. I think it’s too early for June. It’s true that the management team likes him. Allegri values him, and Tare likes him, but after checking, it seems to me that he’s not a hot option right now.
“Definitely not for January; we’ll see in June. He’s a player whose contract expires in 2027, so he’ll definitely have a lot of market potential.”
