AFC Bournemouth are already planning for life with Alex Jimenez as a permanent player, according to Matteo Moretto.
Towards the end of the summer transfer window, Milan made the decision to allow Jimenez to join Bournemouth on an initial loan deal which includes an option to buy, bringing to an end his two-year spell since arriving from Real Madrid.
Bournemouth’s next move
So far, the Spaniard has made six Premier League appearances for the Cherries, who occupy a Champions League spot at the moment after a brilliant start to the season. Matteo Moretto – in a video on Fabrizio Romano ‘s YouTube channel – spoke about Jimenez’s future.
“Alex Jimenez, born in 2005, made a somewhat surprising move this summer after a series of setbacks, joining Bournemouth in the Premier League on loan with an option to buy, which could become mandatory upon meeting certain conditions,” he began (via MilanNews).
“Let’s just say that after a period of adaptation, Jimenez is showing his true potential in the Premier League as well. The last match against Nottingham was very positive; the player showcased all his qualities and showed his worth on the pitch in a fantastic duel with Ndoye, which the Spaniard won.
“The transfer figures are around €20m, a fixed base plus bonuses, and I can say that Bournemouth are already working on a possible buyout. Bournemouth are already planning to acquire Jimenez outright, regardless of these conditions, which would need to be met to convert the loan into a permanent.
“Bournemouth, after making certain investments and developing certain players over time, intend to focus heavily on Jimenez, who remains a player in Real Madrid’s orbit, controlled by the buy-back agreement.
“Be careful, because Carvajal has just sustained an injury. It’s a rather serious one, and Jimenez is a player controlled by Real Madrid. I’d add that the senior national team is monitoring him closely and wants to give him a chance for the future.”
As a reminder, La Gazzetta dello Sport clarified exactly how the buy-back arrangement works for Real Madrid during an article around the time of Jimenez’s sale.
