AC Milan are in a terrible position with Mike Maignan’s future, and it is likely that he will leave for nothing in the summer.
There is something about the handling of Maignan’s future which is laughable from Milan. From start to finish, they have been a step behind where they should have been, and now it looks like they will pay.
A deal was on the table, and the Rossoneri walked away from it. This frustrated Maignan, understandably, and the Frenchman was seriously considering an exit this summer, even asking to move to Chelsea.
That deal fell through, and a new round of talks was set to take place. However, this seems not to have progressed as the Diavolo would have hoped.

Maignan’s situation
Milan Eye on X relays words from Matteo Moretto, who has provided a less-than-hopeful update on the situation with a deal looking very unlikely at present. There is time, but it is running out.
“Discussions for Maignan’s contract renewal with Milan are completely stalled at the moment.
“Milan already had an agreement in principle with Mike back in February for a renewal until 2028+ an option for another year worth €5M+bonus per year; however, due to several reasons, Milan decided to reconsider the agreement that he was almost sold to Chelsea.
“However, no agreement was found on the transfer fee between Milan and Chelsea, and after speaking with Allegri, Maignan decided to stay at Milan. As things stand, Maignan’s contract ends next summer, and he is free to sign for any club in January/February.”
