Matteo Moretto has now confirmed the story that broke on Thursday about AC Milan being keen on a Partizan Belgrade striker.

Over the past few days, all of the stories about signing a centre-forward have centred around Niclas Füllkrug, who still appears set to sign in the January transfer window from West Ham on what will be an initial loan deal. That being said, the management always have an eye on the future.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Luca Bianchin broke the news that Milan are in talks over signing Andrej Kostic, a striker born in 2007 in Podgorica, who plays for Partizan Belgrade and is making quite an impression. He’s already scored eight goals in the Serbian top flight, despite being just 18.

Negotiations underway

Now, Matteo Moretto has confirmed during a video on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian YouTube channel that the Rossoneri management are in talks over a deal for an exciting talent that should come in at less than €10m.

“La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed this name: Kostic, a 2007-born striker from Partizan. He can play as a centre-forward or a second striker. He scored in the Italy-Montenegro U21 match,” he began.

“It’s true that Milan wants him, and it’s true that the parties are discussing it. There hasn’t been an official offer from Milan to Partizan yet. They’re talking about a figure around €4-5m plus bonuses, to get to a total figure slightly under €10m.

“There’s no official offer yet, but there are contacts between all the parties involved. An offer could certainly arrive in the next few days because Milan are very interested in this player. Eight goals in the Serbian league for a 2007-born player is still a significant figure, a very interesting player in terms of future prospects.

“Milan have already locked down Arizala, a Colombian winger who would then be sent to Toulouse, but Milan is focusing on both the very young players and the first team, with Fullkrug’s name at the forefront.

“Be attentive because the youth market, the Milan U23 transfer window will be really busy. Milan want to improve and improve the quality of the squad, we expect a lot of deals that concern Milan Futuro.”
