Ardon Jashari ended up at AC Milan after some very lengthy negotiations with Club Brugge that required a lot of patience. During said negotiations, Zlatan Ibrahimovic even stepped in.
It became clear pretty quickly that Jashari was Milkan’s primary target this summer, putting a lot of time and effort into the negotiations with Club Brugge. A deal was eventually struck at around €34m plus bonuses, and the player’s will played a huge part.
Indeed, during the times that the Belgian side made the negotiations difficult, Milan always relied on the player’s willingness to join the Rossoneri. The fact that he rejected other clubs as well made it very difficult for Club Brugge to threaten to sell him elsewhere.
Ibrahimovic’s unexpected message
According to Matteo Moretto (via Il Garante), during the negotiations between the clubs, Ibrahimovic stepped in and sent a message to the player. Most likely, he reiterated Milan’s clear desire to reach an agreement with Club Brugge, urging the player to sit tight.

As the journalist puts it, Jashari was ‘surprised’ by this message as he didn’t expect Ibrahimovic to send one. It clearly didn’t hurt the matter and it’s one of the things that the Swede can help out with, seeing as he still has a lot of respect among players.
Soon, we will also get to see Jashari on the pitch again, following the serious injury he sustained last month. The recovery time could change depending on the progress but for now, the estimated timeline is 2-3 months from when the injury occurred.
