AC Milan and Juventus discussed a swap deal late in the summer transfer window that did not end up materialising, it is claimed.

Although the mercato officially closed on Monday at 20:00 CEST, we are in that period where stories continue to filter out about the deals that were talked about but never ended up coming to fruition.

For example, L’Equipe revealed yesterday that Milan considered a move for Presnel Kimpembe. However in the end the Paris Saint-Germain defender did not arrive, and David Odogu did.

Swap discussed with Juventus

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto revealed that in the last few days of the market, there was an idea about a swap deal between Samuel Chukwueze and Nicolas Gonzalez with Juventus.

Chukwueze Fulham Announcement

However, in the end Milan chose not to pursue the idea and the swap deal came to nothing. Chukwueze completed a move to Fulham on deadline day, on an initial loan deal which includes an option to buy in a €30m total operation.

Meanwhile, Gonzalez ended up joining Atletico Madrid, also in an initial loan deal and in a package that could reach €33m if all of the bonuses are obtained, as per our colleagues over at Football Espana.
