A new name has emerged to potentially reinforce AC Milan’s attack in view of next season: Victor Munoz of Osasuna.
According to Matteo Moretto (via Calciomercato.com), the Milan management have been drawn to the name of Munoz, a 23-year-old winger tied to Osasuna by a contract expiring in 2030. Like Víctor Valdepeñas – who is on Milan’s radar too – he has ties to Real Madrid.
This name is no stranger to the club’s scouts and to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with whom there was some discussion last summer. This season, he has amassed five goals and four assists for the Pamplona club in LaLiga and the Copa del Rey.
Raised in Real Madrid’s La Fabrica youth academy, last year he played for RM Castilla, finishing with 11 goals and seven assists. Last summer, he joined Osasuna, who paid €5m for 50% of his rights, plus €1m in bonuses.
His release clause is €40m, with Real Madrid having the right to buy him back in the summers of 2026, 2027 and 2028. In January, Premier League club Sunderland made a €25m offer, which was rejected by Osasuna, who will only evaluate offers this summer.
Having trained in the San Gabriel youth system before joining Barcelona (2014-17), Munoz then played for Damm (2017-21) before joining Real Madrid. He made his debut for the first team in the last El Clásico at Camp Nou and played 13 minutes at the Club World Cup.
A very good one-on-one player, the feeling is that he might currently struggle to adapt to Massimiliano Allegri’s philosophy. In a 3-5-2 formation, he can play as a second striker, but he prefers to play as a natural winger, therefore in a three-man attack.
