AC Milan and Adriano Galliani have yet to reach a full agreement regarding his potential return to the club, it has been confirmed.
Galliani’s possible comeback for a second stint at Milan – the club that he worked at for 31 years during Silvio Berlusconi’s ownership period – has been circulating in the media for weeks now. It has coincided with the sale of Monza, and his departure as their CEO despite being offered the presidency.
Matteo Moretto is among the sources that has claimed in recent weeks that Galliani’s Milan return is only a matter of time. The journalist spoke of a verbal pact being in place with Gerry Cardinale – the owner of Milan – and that things would get moving when Monza’s sale was complete.
‘A highly sought-after figure’
Monza were indeed sold officially earlier this month, but things have gone quiet on Galliani. Moretto gave an update on the situation on Fabrizio Romano‘s YouTube channel, and revealed the presence of another offer having been put forward.
“Galliani’s name is on the table. We’ve been talking about it for months, but we haven’t mentioned him in weeks. The situation with Milan remains stable, but we haven’t reached the final stage of signing the deal or defining Galliani’s role at Milan,” he said.
“Contacts between the parties are constant and ongoing. Galliani also has another proposal on the table, one from FIFA. He’s a highly sought-after figure. We’ll see how things develop.”
