AC Milan have been back in talks with the agents of Guela Doue and they have told them an improved bid is coming.
Milan are looking for a new right-back having got a deal for Pervis Estupinan over the line to fix the left-back position. While it looked like Marc Pubill from Almeria was the chosen target, things then went cold on that front.
New Doue bid imminent
According to Matteo Moretto on YouTube, Milan have communicated to Guéla Doué’s agents that they are willing to increase their offer to Strasbourg to €21-22m in order to try and sign the Frenchman.
The new amount will most probably still not be enough either, as the Ligue 1 side are still demanding a total package of €30m including bonuses in order to sell.

Tuttosport recently reported that Chelsea could use Milan’s interest in Doue as an opportunity to get some revenge on them after the way the Mike Maignan negotiations went, given they are part of the same ownership group.
Milan must try to secure a right-sided defender quickly. Alex Jimenez and Alexis Saelemaekers can fill in if needed but it seems obvious that they are not considered as nailed-on to take either full-back role, given they are better as wing-backs or wingers.
