AC Milan do intend to sign a new defender with Alex Jimenez on his way out of the club, but Joe Gomez will be a difficult deal to pull off.
Matteo Moretto spoke in a YouTube video (via MilanNews) on Sunday afternoon, with just over 24 hours of the window left. He previously stated that he believes Milan will be one of the most active late movers and now he has given some updates on the various tracks that are open.
Jimenez is leaving for England, heading to Bournemouth. As said, the deal will be a loan with an option to buy, which becomes mandatory under certain fairly simple conditions. He adds that Milan would like to find a replacement for the Spaniard, a player on loan and therefore a new right-back.
Regarding Joe Gomez, the Rossoneri haven’t reached a financial agreement with the player. Milan have already sent an official offer to Liverpool, but there’s less and less time left to close this deal.
On Adrien Rabiot, Milan are moving forward. There’s constant and ongoing contact because Milan want the Frenchman. He’s the player Allegri requested, even though the deal remains difficult because of how much Marseille and the ex-PSG man want to make it happen.
