AC Milan will soon sit down with Alexis Saelemaekers and his entourage to discuss a contract renewal, Matteo Moretto has confirmed.
In many ways it has been a strange last couple of years for Saelemaekers, who departed Milan on two loan spells, firstly to Bologna and then to Roma. A permanent move to the latter seemed likely, but then Massimiliano Allegri arrived and it became clear he was staying with the Rossoneri.
Beyond that, he has now nailed down a starting spot too under the new coach. The Belgian has made the right wing-back role very much his own, in the 3-5-2 system that Allegri has implemented and already had success with.
Saelemaekers: Talks planned
Matteo Moretto spoke on a YouTube video together with Fabrizio Romano and offered some updates on renewals, including that of Saelemaekers and also the current talisman Christian Pulisic.

“Before going on loan to Roma, AC Milan had renewed Saelemaekers’ contract until 2027. It’s one of the contracts the Rossoneri are working on to try to adapt and extend the agreement,” he said.
“Milan’s desire is to continue with the player: his performances are making the difference, because he’s performing at excellent levels on the pitch.
“Just like Tomori, Milan are planning to renew Saelemaekers’ contract: contacts are expected in the coming weeks. It’s a topic of discussion.”
