Moretto: Milan made last-ditch attempt for Monaco defender – the details

AC Milan were left rushing about at the end of the summer mercato, and this meant several routes were exhausted. 

There have been a few questionable things done by Milan this summer. Not signing an out-and-out striker is up there, indeed. However, the defensive scramble is what many are left confused by. Ultimately, the Rossoneri had time and didn’t utilise it.

Throughout the summer, there was a one-in-one-out policy, and despite this, the Diavolo were left unprepared when a defender did eventually leave. Of course, Koni De Winter arrived, but Massimiliano Allegri requested further back-ups.

German destiny

Against Cremonese, the defence looked weak without a real leader, and Allegri requested a more senior option. Instead, he was greeted by David Odogu on deadline day, almost the complete opposite of what was needed.
