Archie Brown seems to be the latest name that AC Milan are looking into for the left-back role, and there were contacts on Tuesday.
With the imminent departure of Theo Hernandez, Milan is looking for a new left-back to give to Massimiliano Allegri as a new starter on that flank. There have already been several names linked such as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Andrea Cambiaso.
Among the profiles sought that has emerged in recent days is that of Archie Brown who currently plays at Gent. He joined the Belgian side in August 2023 from Lausanne-Sport in Switzerland, having previously been in the youth sector at Derby County in his native England.
Archie Brown: Contacts held
Now, Matteo Moretto has given an update on the negotiation during a segment on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“Archie Brown certainly remains one of the top targets to fill the role left vacant by Theo Hernandez, and there have been recent contacts between the parties,” he said.

“He’s a young player who’s very interesting to AC Milan: there’s a shortlist of three names, and Archie Brown is certainly one of the most intriguing and worth considering. AC Milan are working on him, and have been working on him in recent hours.
He added on X: “Milan made a verbal offer to Archie Brown but have not yet opened official negotiations with KAA Gent. There are also other clubs very interested in Archie Brown, especially outside Italy.”
