AC Milan are surveying the market for a Mike Maignan replacement, and it seems they have outlined two key qualities.
It seems growingly likely that Milan will sign a goalkeeper next summer, and it seems probable that they will be a starter at this rate. The Rossoneri’s situation with Mike Maignan is not at all promising, so that chapter will probably end.
There has been time to prepare for this situation, though. After all, the club have considered his future since the summer of 2024, if not before that. Yet, nothing has actually happened, which is a worry.
Maignan’s replacement: The requirements
Today, Matteo Moretto has looked at the situation and who is standing out, as MilanNews24 relays from his segment on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel.
“Milan is looking for a reliable goalkeeper who can also be interesting for the future. Caprile is being monitored by Milan, but he would not be considered a starter at the moment. Noah Atubolu is in the sights of half of Europe, but Milan are not at the forefront.”
Interestingly, Caprile would not be considered a starter, and whether Atubolu would also not be thought of as a number one is not mentioned. However, they are two similar profiles, so finding someone better but in the same bracket will be difficult and costly.
