AC Milan are closing in on securing a signing for the future having agreed a deal for Jacopo Sardo of AC Monza.
A lot of the speculation surrounding Milan at the moment is about additions and potential exits for the first team. Niclas Füllkrug is already through the door, with the expectation being that a central defender will follow before the window closes at the end of the month.
However, the management are also attentive to rising talents both domestically and overseas. Although Juan Arizala ended up at Udinese, the fact that Milan had agreed a multi-million deal with Deportivo Medellin shows the willingness to invest in the future.
Sardo on his way
Now, Matteo Moretto has posted the following on his X account: “AC Milan are ready to close the deal for Jacopo Sardo, a 2005-born midfielder from Monza. Operation in view of Milan Futuro.”
It was actually reported back in the 2024 summer window that Milan wanted to sign Sardo, when he was at Lazio. He headed to Monza in the summer and is yet to make a senior appearance for them, but the Rossoneri like what they have seen from him at youth level.
The 20-year-old played for Italy at the recent U20 World Cup, and he can play either as a box-to-box midfielder (his preferred role) or in front of the defence.
