Moretto: Milan working on permanent Nkunku deal as Vlahovic’s salary remains high

AC Milan are working on a permanent signing of Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, according to a report, and the Dusan Vlahovic idea seems to have lost traction. 

It’s been a few chaotic days for Milan on the mercato, with a bunch of new targets emerging, while a lot of work still has to be done before the window closes. As we discussed in our latest newsletter, one can definitely voice criticism towards the management.

In any case, the No.9 role is a big priority and the failure to secure Conrad Harder has forced the Rossoneri to look elsewhere. While Max Allegri has requested Vlahovic, Milan are reportedly working on Nkunku for the time being.

Nkunku leapfrogs Vlahovic

According to Matteo Moretto, posting a follow-up tweet on X, Milan and Chelsea are discussing a permanent deal for Nkunku. The player has already given his availability for the move and it remains to be seen if a total agreement can be reached.

As for Vlahovic, whom Moretto spoke about on YouTube, nothing has changed in the last few days. The player could actually stay at Juventus as he’s not willing to reduce his salary to join another club, not even if that club is Milan.

Furthermore, there has been no contact between the parties as the Rossoneri know the salary is an obstacle.
