This summer, AC Milan have strengthened the midfield more than anywhere else. However, they may not be done yet.
Tijjani Reijnders’ departure has allowed a complete restructuring of the midfield, and it has been very much a case of sell to buy. Last year, the issues in the middle were clear, so the lightbulb had to be sold to share the brightness.
Luka Modric, Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari have all joined, and they add to Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana as the other ‘mainstays’. However, there is another that could be of use.
That, of course, is Yunus Musah, though his future looks to be elsewhere. Then, in this case, the Rossoneri would reinvest the funds into another purchase.
Another midfield addition?
Earlier today, it was reported that the favoured idea was Giovanni Fabbian, but Adrien Rabiot could also be another option. Matteo Moretto has discussed it this afternoon, as MilanNews relays.

“Direct contact is expected between Milan and Bologna today to try to advance the negotiations. Milan is ready to offer €14 million and already yesterday began making moves on some midfielders. There has also been contact with other clubs regarding other players, but they aren’t leaving at the moment and won’t be leaving until the end.
“There’s uncertainty about Rabiot. The Musah-Atalanta deal isn’t as advanced as they say, but it could speed up in the next few hours, although Allegri would prefer to keep Musah.”
