Moretto offers update on Okafor’s Milan future: “Contacts in last few hours”

1 week ago 36

AC Milan are looking to part with Noah Okafor this summer, despite the fact that he has shone a little in pre-season.

Performances in pre-season always need to be taken with a pinch of salt. Considering everything, though, there is a debate to be had about Okafor. The Swissman has struggled for Milan since joining; unfortunately, there is no hiding from that.

However, the attacker has shown to be versatile and play when needed. Of course, there is a need for consistency and, more importantly, funds. But, he could be a cheaper alternative to other options in the mercato.

Turkey calling

Now, Milan are faced with the decision of allowing him to leave again this summer, or to keep him. Right now, it seems more likely that a sale will occur despite everything, but finding apt suitors is proving difficult.

Interest from Brazil was turned down, whilst the links to Bologna are not really taking off. Today, Matteo Moretto provided an update on things, as MilanNews relays.

“Noah Okafor is still on Fenerbahçe’s list. There have been contacts even in the last few hours. The Turkish club are evaluating several options, the main one being Benfica, but they are also keeping other options open in case the deal with the Portuguese club doesn’t go through. Milan is seeking a permanent transfer for Okafor.”
