Pervis Estupinan is at the top of AC Milan’s wish list for the post-Theo Hernandez era and according to Matteo Moretto, the player’s agent Jorge Mendes could meet with Brighton next week.
It’s been over a week since Hernandez’s move to Al-Hilal was made official and Milan are yet to identify a replacement. When you consider that the Frenchman’s move was done long before it was announced, there can be some concerns.
Having said that, Milan have made Brighton’s Estupinan their main target for the position – as per various reports – and negotiations are set to continue next week. In fact, there could even be a breakthrough of sorts then.
Moretto’s update
As stated by Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, there is a distance of €7m between Milan and Brighton currently. The Rossoneri have offered €13m as a fixed base while the English side want €20m, so there is some work to do in the negotiations.
Jorge Mendes, who is the agent of the left-back, has scheduled a trip to London for next week where he will work on various operations. As such, according to Moretto, a move regarding Estupinan cannot be ruled out and could perhaps boost the negotiations significantly.
The player has already made it known that he’s willing to try a new challenge and as Brighton recently signed Maxim De Cuyper, there is already a replacement in place.
