Matteo Moretto has suggested that Sergio Ramos’ name is not one that AC Milan are currently evaluating as a potential signing.
In the past few days, there have been widespread reports claiming that Ramos has decided to bring an end to his spell with Monterrey and he wants to move back to Europe. He wishes to keep his 2026 World Cup hopes alive, however slim they might currently be.
Fabrizio Romano also stated earlier on Monday that the former Real Madrid centre-back is ‘100%’ open to the idea of a move to Serie A, and that he hopes to have a Luka Modric-style impact somewhere. MilanNews went on to report that his agents have offered him to Milan.
Ramos to Milan: Moretto’s latest
Could Ramos be a good fit for Serie A and for the Rossoneri? Moretto discussed the idea on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, but he poured cold water on the possibility, with his words via SOSFanta.
“Sergio Ramos’s contract with Monterrey expires on December 31, 2025. He’d love the idea of coming to play in Italy. Negotiations with Italian clubs aren’t underway yet – it’s still very early, and Italy isn’t the only option: Ramos has a very, very high salary, the sum he gets is significant.

“Not all clubs can come close. He’s 39 years old, but he has a track record we all know about, and he’s physically fit. His sporting project will also play a role in trying to get him back in shape towards the end of the season.
“I’m not aware that Milan has Sergio Ramos’ name on their list. I’m not aware that he’s a player they’re evaluating today. I haven’t received any confirmation that this type of name may have been put forward. I don’t know that, and I absolutely don’t want to contradict anyone.
“The only information I want to share is that Milan are not currently considering Sergio Ramos as a player to strengthen their defence.”
