AC Milan are very keen on renewing Rafael Leao’s contract, despite the 2028 deadline, but this doesn’t mean that their overall approach has changed.
Leao has been an important player for Milan in the last few weeks, scoring four goals in his last five league appearances. Clearly, the No.10 has regained some form and considering the Rossoneri have had some heavy absences, it was certainly well-timed.
The hope is that he will be able to continue on this path, especially since Massimiliano Allegri has put a lot of focus on the Milan star. Before the game against Parma, the player himself also made it clear that the gaffer’s support has helped a lot.
Renewal in the works
Amid the recent success, it’s no surprise that we are talking about Leao’s future again, though it should be noted that Milan have wanted a renewal for quite some time. Indeed, despite the current 2028 deadline, a renewal would be a way of showing their support.
This was reported by Matteo Moretto in his latest YouTube video, stating that the Rossoneri could even renew the deal for 2-3 years. Having said that, the overall strategy hasn’t changed: if a good enough offer arrives, like with any other player, the management will evaluate it.
