Moretto states it is ‘impossible’ for Xhaka to move to Milan: “Never made a move”

Granit Xhaka seems to be on the way to Saudi Arabia, making a move to AC Milan ‘impossible’, according to a journalist.

There are a few midfielders that have been looked at this summer, but the most prominent links in the early stages were to Granit Xhaka. At one point, a deal even looked somewhat likely, but a move never occured.

Instead, Milan are now pursuing Ardon Jashari, who is deemed to be his replacement for the Swiss National Team. An interesting move indeed, especially considering the farce which it has descended into.

Never made a move

If, for whatever reason, Jashari does not arrive, it seems that they will not be able to return to their original idea, with Matteo Moretto stating that the Swiss man moving to Milano is ‘impossible right now’.

Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, the journalist explained Xhaka’s situation, as MilanNews relays this afternoon.

“Granit Xhaka is in talks with an Arab club recently promoted to the Saudi top flight. The Swiss would be looking for around €10 million, making it a very tempting offer. Bayer would like around €15 million. We’ve always told you that Milan would offer a maximum of €10 million, maybe €12 million, but no more. Milan have never made a move for Xhaka; that’s impossible right now.”
