AC Milan are in the process of finalising a deal with Como for Alvaro Morata. However, the deal is being held up in a peculiar way.
When Morata moved to Galatasaray, the move would keep him in Turkey for 12 months, rather than six or 18, to take him to a summer mercato. Now, this is backfiring, with Milan now struggling to get a deal done.
The reasoning? Gala want some money to see the Spaniard depart, and reports this morning suggest that €5 million is being sought. Considering the move to Como is costing €10m, half of that money will go.
At this point, questions have to be asked about the value of a deal, considering the money that will be lost to Gala.
Issues arising
It is not just frustrating for the Italian clubs, though. In fact, Morata is now getting frustrated with his loan club, according to Matteo Moretto who spoke on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel this evening, via MilanNews.
“There’s a lot of tension between Morata and Galatasaray. Morata has repeatedly asked to join Como, with whom he already has an agreement, but the Turkish club isn’t open to Morata’s departure. It’s a standoff.”
