Moretto: Valencia star rejects renewal offer and is ‘waiting’ for Milan’s move

Javi Guerra has turned down a renewal offer from Valencia, hoping that AC Milan or another club accelerate their pursuit.

Given that the Ardon Jashari soap opera is dragging on with no signs of a conclusion coming imminently, Milan may begin to explore other options to complete the midfield after the additions of Samuele Ricci and Luka Modric.

Guerra is one of the targets that they were linked with weeks ago, when the need to rebuild the department first emerged following the sale of Tijjani Reijnders. Now, it seems the player is waiting and hoping, which isn’t helping Valencia in their bid to agree a new long-term deal.

Renewal offer rejected

According to Matteo Moretto on YouTube, Guerra has said no to Valencia’s first renewal offer. The player will continue to negotiate with the club for a possible renewal, while at the same time waiting to see if Milan or other clubs will make a concrete move for him.

Moretto reported a few days ago that the Diavolo had ‘reactivated’ their pursuit of the Spain U21 international. He added: “Milan are now negotiating to reach an agreement on contractual terms; no deal has yet been reached between Milan and Valencia.”
