An update has arrived on AC Milan’s pursuit of a new striker, and it seems that several names are still being explored.
Before the Coppa Italia round of 32 game against Bari at San Siro last night, Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare spoke to Mediaset and he confirmed that the club still want to sign a striker, admitting Rasmus Hojlund and Dusan Vlahovic are options.
Centre-forward pursuit: The latest
Matteo Moretto gave an update on Milan’s mission to sign a striker on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel. The goal is to find the right forward to partner with Santiago Gimenez to complete the attack.
Tare mentioned the two main names that Milan are working on the most: the first is Vlahovic, who is the favorite name that everyone would agree on, but only if the costs of the deal were to truly turn out to be an opportunity. That’s not the case today, but Milan will always keep an eye on things.
The other name is Hojlund, who is currently the hottest because he’s simply the one being worked on the most. This week is a ‘make or break for Hojlund’ as per the journalist, given the Dane hasn’t been called up to the Arsenal squad and therefore knows he’s out of the project.

In the coming days, there will be new contacts regarding Hojlund, and we must see if Milan will accommodate the requests, including the transfer fee. In addition to these two names, Milan is also considering other alternative options that could become hot if the first targets don’t arrive.
For example, this list includes a player Milan are very interested in: Nicolas Jackson, but this has always been a very expensive option. We’ll see if this option becomes available to Milan in the coming days and if Chelsea are open to a formula that could benefit Milan.
Therefore, we’re keeping Jackson’s name on the list, who Milan have been pursuing for over a year. There are also two other names on the list: Breel Embolo, who is at odds with Monaco, and Tolu Arokodare of Genk.
