MP: ‘Could bring things forward’ – Romagnoli offered Milan return via intermediaries

2 weeks ago 52

With Massimiliano Allegri wanting a senior defender, AC Milan may consider making a move for Alessio Romagnoli this month.

There has been a lot said about defenders this winter, and Milan still need to add some defensive coverage. However, it seems that a move will only be made towards the end of the window, if at all. After all, they are getting by for now.

With that said, in an ideal world, the Rossoneri would have more coverage. But finding the right opportunity for the finances and the team is proving to be challenging. There are several names on the shortlist, but many are unattainable.

Guess who’s back?

Today, another option may be added to that list, with MilanPress reporting that a move for Romagnoli could be made. The former captain could indeed make a return to San Siro this month, with intermediaries offering the central defender to the Diavolo management.

He is considered to be on his way out of Lazio, and whilst they would prefer a summer exit – as to not lose an experienced option – this could be pushed forward.

Al-Sadd have alreay began making a move for him, offering a bid in the region of €7-8 million, but this was rejected.

Instead, the Biancolesti would require at least double for him to depart in this window. So, for now, Milan are just observing the situation, albeit with the knowledge that a move represents a low-risk solution to a known issue.

It is a tempting idea, and that is all for now. Things can change quickly, though, and they often do in January.
