MP: Milan return to Allianz Stadium after 9 months with several changes – the details

This weekend, AC Milan will head to the Allianz Stadium to face Juventus once again, nine months after their last visit.

A lot has changed since Milan last played Juventus in Turin, but even that feels slightly unfair to say. There have been changes in almost every department since that last meeting in January, so much so that the Rossoneri may be unrecognisable.

Nine months and Allegri

As MilanPress writes, it has not been long, really, since that last clash. However, it feels like a lifetime away for this current Diavolo side. The result on that day has probably also given a reason to push it back, too.

A 2-0 defeat, and one of the worst Milan performances of the season at a time when it could not be afforded. Nevertheless, it happened and was another part of a disastrous season for the Rossoneri.

Now, though, the story could not be different. The need for points exists in the battle for the Scudetto if the Diavolo are to make it there. Massimiliano Allegri returns to Turin after 12 years as an opposition coach and has turned the team around.

Only seven from that squad in January remain, after a ‘radical’ change this summer. Hope now rests where pessimism once did, for several reasons. It is an important test, and whilst some pressure remains, it is in a different manner. Then, it was to turn around a season; now it is to continue a trend.
