MP: Number and reunion – De Winter’s big moments on first day at Milan

It looks like today will be the day of Koni De Winter’s arrival at AC Milan, and there are a few things expected. 

A move for De Winter has come around very quickly this summer. Giovanni Leoni and Pietro Comuzzo’s names have been ever present, but that of the Belgian has not been as frequent, if apparent at all.

So, when it was reported that Milan were looking to get a deal done after the sale of Malick Thiaw, it was a little shocking. Nevertheless, for the price, it is difficult not to like the deal. For €20 million, the club are getting a solid option, indeed.

De Winter Wednesday

So, with everything wrapped up, there is an expectation that the central defender should be announced today, as MilanPress reports. In this, we will see the new number of the defender; however, the report also states that this has already been chosen.

Like some greats before him, De Winter will don the number 5 shirt. Additionally, he is expected to meet Allegri again later this afternoon to take part in his first training session, which will be a double one. The pair worked together at Juventus, so this could be a big motivator for his move to the Rossoneri.
