When AC Milan take to the field to face Bologna tonight at San Siro, they will not do so wearing the famous red and black stripes.

As MilanPress report, Milan’s third kit makes its season debut tonight despite the fact that the team are at home. After wearing the red and black home shirt against Cremonese and the white against Lecce, it will be a third kit in three league games so far.

Unveiled back on July 25, the yellow kit was worn for the first time by the players during the 4-2 friendly win against Liverpool in Hong Kong. Since then it has not made an appearance, but – as they often have in recent seasons – Milan have decided to give the third shirt a run-out at home.

The kit was designed in the spirit of fashion, paying homage to the great fashion houses that grace the streets of Milan, but also as a tribute to a special season for the club.

The 1995-96 season culminated with the club winning its 15th Scudetto under Fabio Capello. In that season Milan’s third jersey was yellow as well. Could this be a good omen for Massimiliano Allegri? A win against the Rossoblu is the first step.
