Christopher Nkunku spoke to the media after his positive performance in Milan-Verona, finding the back of the net twice in the second half.
Nkunku has been heavily criticised this season, given his struggles in the final third, and a lot of people rolled their eyes when they saw the Frenchman in the starting eleven earlier today. Fortunately, he responded in the best way possible.
Winning a penalty early in the second half, he converted it himself and then added a second goal with a nice rebound tap-in. After the game, he was interviewed by DAZN (via MilanNews) and shared his thoughts on the performance.
Finally, you find the back of the net. How have the last few months been?
“You just need to stay positive, to be with the team. A lot of my teammates supported me, such as Modric, and even the coach. The most important thing, however, was to win today.”

You only had one balloon, though, you weren’t ready for the brace…
“I only use one balloon, then if I score two or three, the celebrations are with the team.”
Cagliari are up next for Milan and it remains to be seen if Nkunku will start again. Niclas Fullkrug should also be included in the squad for that one, and Rafael Leao might also be back, so there will be some competition for the Frenchman.
