Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins has responded to reports linking him with a move to the Premier League.

Collins, a 22-year-old Germany international, has been the subject of speculation about a possible move to Arsenal or Liverpool.

Sky Germany reported earlier this month that Collins was keen to take the next step in his career and move to England, but he has now directly addressed suggestions that he is eyeing a move away. Giving short shrift to them, he said: "It actually bounces off me pretty well. I’m reading these rumors for the first time myself, which is why I’m partly surprised.

"I’m very happy to be here at Eintracht."

Frankfurt reportedly values Collins at €60 million ($70 million).

Liverpool is in the midst of an overhaul in the center of defense, amid the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate.

Van Dijk, who turns 35 in July, is out of contract next year, while Gomez's deal also expires in 2027, and he could be moved on in the summer.

Konate, meanwhile, is set to become a free agent this summer as things stand, and has repeatedly been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool remains in talks with Konate over a possible contract extension at Anfield, but a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, which was published over the weekend, said that Madrid is prepared to pay Konate a signing-on bonus of $17 million if he moves to the Bernabeu on a free transfer.

Liverpool has taken steps to address its uncertain defensive situation over the last two transfer windows, signing young defenders in Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet.

Liverpool acquired Leoni last summer and agreed a deal to sign Jacquet in January, with the Frenchman due to make the move to Merseyside this summer.

Both players have suffered serious injuries this term, though: Leoni sustained a season-ending knee injury on his Liverpool debut last September, while Jacquet recently underwent surgery on a shoulder injury that he sustained in February.

Liverpool was interested in signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace last summer but was not willing to match Manchester City's offer for the England international during the January transfer window.

He ended up moving to the Etihad Stadium instead.
