In the January mercato, AC Milan need to sign a central defender, and there are a few options. However, they have already been given a rebuttal.
A lot of names have been put forward for Milan in January, and with the window not even open yet, it is probable that the list will grow. However, options being there and options being available are two entirely separate things.
This morning, three new entries to the list were made, with Milan Skriniar, Eric Dier and Federico Gatti all being named as options by a report. Yet, it seems that the list of possible additions has already been lowered to two names.
Skriniar is a no-go
Fabrizio Romano has provided a general update on the situation of Skriniar, who was a leading choice, via his X account.
“Milan Skriniar, seen as untouchable by Fenerbahce in the January transfer window. No chance to negotiate his exit despite links as club guarantees Skriniar is key part of the project and won’t leave.”
Making a move for the former Inter man was said to have been difficult, regardless of this update. However, it seems that it will be impossible for him to return to San Siro this winter.
