‘No concrete information’ – Romano responds to Milan being linked with Icardi

Fabrizio Romano has denied the idea that AC Milan are currently in talks over potentially signing Mauro Icardi from Galatasaray.

Milan have already signed Niclas Füllkrug to reinforce the attack, but they continue to be linked with other forwards too. It all seems to revolve around whether Christopher Nkunku will depart, given that Fenerbahce are believed to have made offers.

If the answer is yes, the second question to be answered would be how to replace the Frenchman. The idea could be a younger profile such as Sidiki Cherif, or the management could move for someone more experienced like Icardi or Jean Philippe-Mateta.

Romano commented on his YouTube channel on the future of Icardi, who has also been linked with Milan in the past few weeks, but he denied the presence of any negotiations involving a team in Serie A.

“Regarding the many questions about Icardi and the rumours about Italian clubs: I’m not aware of anything particularly heated. Roma haven’t made any concrete moves,” he said (via MilanNews).

“There’s also no concrete information about Como and Milan. Como would be looking for a different number nine in that case. There’s no evidence of an Italian team working on Icardi today.”
