Vinicius Jr. has become the latest to wax lyrical about AC Milan star and Real Madrid legend Luka Modric, revealing an anecdote that proves his point.
Modric arrived at Milan in the summer window on a free transfer, ticking off something that was no doubt on his career bucket list as a boyhood fan of the club. His impact so far has been huge, as seen on Friday night with his winning goal against Pisa.
Talk of a potential renewal is already in the air, but the midfielder will have the final say. Someone who knows Modric better than most is Vinícius Júnior, given that they played together at Real Madrid for seven seasons.
Vinicius: ‘No one like Modrc’
Their time together ran from the 2018-19 campaign until Modrić’s departure at the end of last season. During their over half-decade, they played together 261 times and won a total of 14 major trophies.

Vinicius spoke on Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos’ YouTube channel and he shed some light on what Modric is like as a character, with his comments relayed by MilanPress.
“There’s no one like Modric in football at that age. He’s almost 41, he’s special. He’s at Milan, last year he was at Real Madrid, he’s the best in the world. Incredible!
“I really miss him because he always taught us something. He didn’t like losing, even in training. He was always angry when he lost, but when he managed to win… unbearable. I wasn’t lucky enough to play with Cristiano, but I can’t complain: I was with Benzema and Modric.”
