After three consecutive defeats, Milan Futuro returns to winning ways much to the delight of head coach Massimo Oddo.
The match against Folgore Caratese ended 3-2 in Milan’s favour, and it was a dramatic first half in which four goals were split evenly. The winner came in the second half as Branca reacted quickest on the rebound to beat Salvalaggio with his left-footed shot.
After the game, Oddo spoke to Milan TV to give his thoughts on what was a much-needed win for his side, one that stops the rot and puts the Futuro in fifth.
“Today we played against the highest-quality team we’ve faced so far. We played a courageous game. We played football, we knew how to suffer. But above all, we had the strength to not give up, to keep pressing forward, and this meant we didn’t give up and suffered less.
“There was play, there was suffering, there was altruism, there was team spirit, which is what we rely on most. It’s difficult in our situation to find team spirit because we don’t train together much, so today was a very positive test from that point of view, regardless of the result.”
