Massimo Oddo spoke to the media after Milan Futuro’s comeback win against Chievo Verona and understandably so, he was happy with the performance.
Goals from Diego Sia, Chaka Traore and Mattia Cappelletti secured a comeback win for the Rossoneri, though it should have been more comfortable from the start. As we also recovered in our match report, the two goals conceded were gifts to the away side.
Oddo agreed with this notion as he spoke to the media after the game (via MilanNews). Still, he was happy to see that the momentum ddidn’t shift in Chievo’s favour even after the two goals. In that sense, it was very positive stuff from his side.
A comment on the game?
“We played a good game, even in the first half, when we went behind with two mistakes. It’s normal; it happens and will happen again, because we have a lot to improve on.
“But there are many positives, because the team played good football, with character and believed until the end, coming back from a difficult situation. This is a sign of maturation and the players are growing: there will be room for improvement, but we’re happy.”
What makes you happy?
“I’m happy with the work we’re doing in training. We’re working hard to develop our talent and improve ourselves: the matches are the result of what you do during the week. There’s a lot of ambition, a lot of focus. The boys believe in it, and it will be a journey that will bring many positive results.”
Did your goal at the end of the first half change the momentum for the second half?
“There wasn’t a single change in momentun. In the first half, we were playing a very good game, dominating the game, and they scored two goals from two of our mistakes. I think we played a game in which we practically dominated from start to finish.”
Milan Futuro are now in second place, following two wins and one draw, and the next game is scheduled for Wednesday. The start to the season has thus been positive and the hope is that the young players will grow even more as it goes on.
