Official: AC Milan and Al Hammadi Holding announce MilanLab collaboration

AC Milan and Al Hammadi Holding have announced the launch of a long-term collaboration based around MilanLab.

In case you are not familiar, MilanLab is Milan’s high-tech research centre founded in 2002, one that aimed to maximise player performance through a data-driven approach.

Located in the Milanello training complex, it placed emphasis on physical, mental and biochemical data to prevent injuries, extend player careers, and aid decision-making.

It actually became regarded as one of the best advancements in football, and was the brainchild of Jean-Pierre Meersseman as well as the then-CEO Adriano Galliani.

A new partnership

The club website writes that for the first time in Milan’s history, the MilanLab model will be ‘at the core of an international partnership’. The aim is to promote innovation in sports medicine in Saudi Arabia and contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Al Hammadi Holding are one of the leading healthcare operators in Saudi Arabia, and they are now Milan’s Official Medical & Rehabilitation Partner and Regional Partner in the country.

The collaboration will lead to the creation of Saudi Arabia’s first centre of excellence dedicated to sports medicine, rehabilitation, return-to-activity pathways and performance enhancement.
